After two weeks of Navy Reserve Annual Training, it seems almost sad that I will hang my uniform up for a time. It has been a lot to do, but also almost relaxing working-vacation. I will definitely miss the daily, “Morning, Senior Chief, Welcome to Naval Base …” I don’t think my arrival back at work will be anything like that. However, from my latest look at my company webmail, work has been piling up for me, so I will be anything but bored!

Why "notdonner" for my 'nom d 'guerre'? When we decided to add the dog, Comet. to the household, we didn't change his shelter name, but also couldn't remember it. Since it was the Christmas season, I thought of Santa's reindeer: not Dasher, not Dancer, nor Prancer... not Donner, etc. I don't know too many who are not dog-men. I have often eschewed politics in favor of talking about dogs, existentialism and everyday perspective as one of the dog-people. Not that I don't like cats, I do. But cats tolerate you, while dogs enjoy having you around. While a vice-president of the New York Mets (MLB) organization, and an attorney in New York share the same first and last name with me, I have no greater honor than having served my country as a U.S. Navy Senior Chief.
